Simple, easy, enjoyable all-around.

I'll give you points for creativity, this was certainly up there in the "WTF" department. But when it comes down to the nuts and bolts this isn't a super game by any means. It was responsive and smooth throughout, but not really challenging, especially if you avoid the Market levels, which you should if you want the game to end quickly. One turkey will just about get you to your goal, which is nice because it makes the game shorter (and this game really shouldn't be too long) but it also drains it of more challenge.

I'm pretty sure you got everything you wanted out of this game, which is good, but it's not exactly front page worthy.

thanks!

Front page. That would have been nice but I wasn't expecting it. I was just hoping to give you fooks a good laugh or two. ;-) Thanks for the spot on review. Glad you liked it.

Okay game, but not balanced well at the start.

The game is all-around average. The city is a good setting but it gets tiring, seeing as there's a lack of variety. There's a lot more you could of put into the environment but all we see is pedestrians, cars, and police... it gets tiring quickly, and there's no real need to travel across the map because it's more of the same. Plus, I know the idea is that you kill cops, but at least from what I saw, that's all the enemies you ever encounter... cops. A little more variety in people trying to kill you would be nice, like SWAT or something.

In terms of gameplay, it's a bit slow-starting. At the beginning, it takes two shots to kill a cop, which is fine... but a killed cop only gives $100 and can usually shoot once before they go down. What's more, the cops all have perfect aim so there's no real reason to try to avoid them. Because of this, its easy to die the first few levels, and sense the cheapest weapon is $4000, I had to spend three rounds just earning that much money. After that, however, the game got really easy: one hit kills all around, I could make twice that much money in one round without moving.

The beginning was really where this game lacked balance. Outside that, it's pretty sub-par, although the death animations for some of the cops were unique. Plus, the narration gives this game a good flavor, although it can get repetitive.

thanks!

Here's a tip.

I've noticed, by and large, that people don't like the following things:

-Doing Taxes
-Filling out insurance papers
-Jury duty

Want to know why? They're boring and frustrating. You've managed to combine those two aspects into a game, and you seem to be proud of this fact. I want to know why this is the case. People don't play games to get angry at them. They play games to have fun. Frankly, between playing this and doing my taxes, I'd sooner do my taxes: at least I'm accomplishing something.

This is a terrible game. There's a difference between something being difficult that tests your skill and something being annoying for no other reason than to be being annoying. Frankly, it's not that this game is hard, it's just trying, and if I want my patience tested... well, lets be honest: I don't want my patience tested. That's not why I play any game. Sure, patience plays its part, but the operative goal of any good game isn't to test patience.

You disregarded the sole reason people play games in the first place: entertainment. You acknowledge the fact, I'll admit... but that dosn't make it better. Saying you've made a bad game won't make people roll out the welcome wagon and say "they admit it, so it's okay!"

but that's just me. Some people, as it turns out, like to do their taxes.

thanks

Good concept, bad in practice

This game could of been a lot better in a lot of respects. For one, the tree levels are really annoying: the power seems to dramatically shift at some point: a low-power shot barely goes anywhere, but increase the size of the arrow by even a small amount and it'll rocket past the foe. It's annoying, inconsistent, and makes it hard to aim... especially sense the arrow seems to jam at some points...

The Music is distracting, repeats quickly, and could of been a lot better.

Frankly, I can't say anything about the other two gameplay types: the tree was so annoying that I couldn't tolerate the second tree level. But from what I could gather from them, they seemed decent.

You lose three stars for the tree levels, and one for the music. I wont down-grade you any more, because I'm basically missing out on two-thirds of the game.

thanks...

Well game has 60 levels and as I understood you passed only 3. You missed out more than 2/3

A few problems

This is a good game, but there are a few things that take away from the experience. For one, if you go too far to the left or right, you see the black screen behind the background, which didn't really allow me to forget this was a game, so I didn't lose myself in the experience.

SECONDLY, the time between when enemies spawn is sometimes far too great. I was sitting for a good five minutes between spawnings, and it was at the point where I thought the game had frozen. You defiantly need to fix that because it was a unwanted test of patience.

This has a lot of good but it needs a lot of improvement as well.

thanks

Nearly Flawless

But there were a few things I took issue with throughout the whole game.

For one, the wall jump was something I never really got accustomed too: I mean, it was easy, but at the same time it was awkward, so I got killed a few times throughout because I had a problem with the wall jump: that may of been just me, so I didn't dock you points on that regard.

This game is challenging, but it can turn frustrating easily if you die after a good run due to a mistimed jump and you have to do the whole level again: its a good thing the game saved because there were a few times I just had to quit out of frustration. Check points would of done this game a lot of good: granted, it would be less hard but also a whole lot less frustrating, which is something you need to avoid.

It does feel a touch unresponsive at times, particularly when I'm jumping and I want to hook myself onto a wall or floor, so that was an annoyance. Likewise, the Samurai cyborgs were a bit much: I know you were supposed to jump behind them and kill them that way, but there wasn't much of an opening to be had: combined with the unresponsive controls and you have a enemy that's just easier to avoid.

But all those issues aside, this is a great game. The graphics are wonderful, the gameplay is original and addictive, and the music is good yet unbothersome (Although some variety would be nice), all in all I think this is a gem of a game, albeit rough around the edges.

thanks!

an exellent game

This is a wonderful game, I must confess, one of the best I've played in a long time.

Ignoring all the things you could of added: upgrade tree's, new planes, and the like, this game is beautifully made in terms of balance, challenge levels, and gameplay. The game is one of the few "Easy to learn hard to master" games out there, and that's a hard balance to accomplish nowadays. I liked the story a lot, as well.

The music is also perfectly fitting, which is like icing on the cake.

I like this a lot, and I'd fully back any effort on your part to expand this: a multiplayer game, or even a singleplayer game with more depth, would be great.

keep up the great work!

thanks!

You basically acheaved everything you wanted.

This game dosn't have much depth or variation in gameplay, but I imagine that's what you were angling for: a quick, simple game you could play in a few minutes, yet could maintain its challenge if you wanted to keep playing. You achieved this and managed to keep the element of fun in the game, plus make it charming as well.

Congrats on that!

thanks!

A few flaws

the Random level generators make the game exciting, but unbalanced. There were some times when I couldn't go up without having to jump on the bad platforms, because the good one's simply weren't in reach. This sort of random level generation makes things rather unfair, seeing as it depends less on skill and more on luck. You shouldn't punish people for landing on a bad platform because no other options exist.

This problem, however, is still a minor annoyance when compared to the actual game, which is quite good overall.

thanks

I'd like nothing more than to give you a ten...

But there were a few problems that you seem to have yet to fix. First and foremost, there are still a lot of glitches. Sometimes the Auto-guns would shoot at the ground when there were enemies to be killed nearby, which was annoying. The animation for the gaulting gun's firing was stalled so it looked more like a static yogurt splash than the sparks it was supposed to be. Enemies could fly past the base and not enter it, not doing any damage to me, and while you were able to re-select your main gun, the actual click-area was so off that it took me a long time to find it.

However...

I can't deny the charms of the storyline. This was VERY original, something you don't see very often in flash games anymore: their either not dealt with at all, made fun of in the game itself, or cliche. At first I feared this would be the third of above cases, but its very original and defiantly worth toughing out all the problems to see the story to an end.

Thanks!
